Esther Cepeda Gamella (BSc in Biology, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain; International Master of Sciences in Marine Biological Resources, IMBRSea) is a marine ecologist with a deep interest in understanding the processes occurring in the marine ecosystem and their interaction with marine organisms and external factors, such as human activities. She is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Ghent University with the BELSPO project OUTFLOW (Quantifying the cOntribUTion of Fouling fauna to the Local carbon budget of an Offshore Windfarm). The main goal is to assess the effect of large densities of fouling fauna on wind turbines in offshore wind farms in the surrounding habitats.h
