Claudia Gaspar García is a marine biologist (B.Sc. in Biology; Erasmus Mundus M.Sc. in Marine Environment and Resources MER) with a profound interest in marine ecology, including conservation and monitoring. She has experience in diverse fields including food webs analysis, fisheries bycatch and turtle conservation and surveillance. She works on hard substrate ecological research of various monitoring programs and projects within the MARECO team; studying the artificial (offshore renewables) and natural hard substrate (gravel bed) invertebrate communities. She processes fauna samples and performs taxonomic identification to evaluate the biodiversity and functioning of benthic macrofauna communities.
