Thomas Kerkhove
Thomas Kerkhove (Erasmus Mundus MSc in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (EMBC); PhD in Biology, Ghent University) is a marine biologist monitoring the ecological effects of offshore marine renewables, thereby focusing on marine invertebrates. He has a special interest in the European flat oyster (Ostrea edulis), which is reflected in his involvement in several oyster restoration projects. Furthermore, he is responsible for the monitoring of non-indigenous species and beach litter in Belgium, for which he participates in several marine conservation and management groups and initiatives. Currently, he is also coordinating the EcoMPV project on the ecological effects of floating offshore solar.
