Tasnim Patel
Tasnim is a marine biologist (PhD Biology) working at the interface of ecology, spatial planning, and marine policy. Their research spans deep-sea scavenger ecology, especially Lysianassidae amphipods in Pacific polymetallic nodule provinces, using molecular, phylogenetic, bioinformatic, and novel trace metal approaches in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone. They also work on North Sea systems, including marine spatial planning, ecological connectivity, restoration, nature-inclusive design, and low-trophic aquaculture-offshore wind farm multi-use. Tasnim has contributed to international projects, ABNJ sampling campaigns, fieldwork, outreach, and student supervision, with a broader bio-geoscience profile including tsunami and storm-flood sediment research, and a strong commitment to evidence-based marine governance.
