Tasnim Patel
Tasnim is affiliated with the Freshwater Biology and MARECO teams. She has a strong passion for biology and geology, an understanding of Lysianassidae amphipods, especially from the Pacific Ocean. During her PhD she has become adept at developing and optimising molecular protocols including DNA extraction, PCR amplification, DNA sequencing, data treatment and statistical, phylogenetic and bioinformatic analyses of molecular data. Her interests lie in biodiversity, geographic and population research of deep-sea scavengers found in manganese nodule provinces. She has worked on four projects at the Institute of Natural Sciences, organised fieldwork, participated in two extended marine sampling campaigns and co-supervised 4 students.
