PHAROS: Lighthouse for Atlantic and Arctic Basin
Climate change, biodiversity loss and urbanization are some of the main challenges that the marine realm faces. The Pharos Project will provide tailored nature-based solutions for restoration of marine biodiversity and ecosystems, support the reduction of invasive marine species and advance the technology readiness level across the Atlantic and Arctic maritime regions. By collaborating with scientists, policymakers, education institutes, communities and citizens, the consortium of 24 organizations will seek to create accessible and engaging representations of information and best practices, while fostering informed decision-making. The project aligns with the European Union’s ambitious Ocean Mission objectives. In this project we will extend the Blue4All user-friendly Blueprint Platform for creating effective, efficient, and resilient MPAs and networks of MPAs to include the Atlantic and Arctic seas.
